Dr. Martin Matoulek is a distinguished expert in obesity, endocrinology, and physical education medicine. He is a faculty member at the Department of Biomedicine and an active university lecturer.
He earned his medical degree from the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague (1991–1997) and completed his Ph.D. on Dehydroepiandrosterone Derivatives and Metabolic Syndrome (1997–2003). He holds certifications in internal medicine, endocrinology, and physical education medicine and achieved habilitation in Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine in 2017, focusing on the role of physical activity and diet in obesity treatment.
Dr. Matoulek is the President of the Czech Society of Exercise Medicine and serves on the medical commissions of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Czech Football Federation. As Chairman of VŠTJ MEDICINA PRAHA, he leads exercise programs in collaboration with Charles University’s medical faculties and the General Hospital of Prague. His work integrates research, clinical practice, and medical education to advance rehabilitation and sports medicine.
